Speakers
Sr. Nancy Usselmann is the Director of the Pauline Center for Media Studies and a Media
Literacy Education Specialist. She is a theologian, national speaker, blogger, film reviewer,
and author of a theology of popular culture called, A Sacred Look: Becoming Cultural Mystics.
Sr Nancy has degrees in Communications Arts and a Masters in Theology and the Arts from
Fuller Theological Seminary and is currently working on her D.Min. at Catholic University of
America. She has extensive experience in the creative aspects of social media, print media,
radio and video production as well as in marketing, advertising, retail management and
administration.
Jesse Manibusan is the founder of Jesse Manibusan Music Ministries, an
evangelization and catechetical ministry that reaches throughout the United States
and beyond. With over 30 years in ministry as a liturgical minister, youth worker,
parish associate, catechist, parish mission and retreat director, international
presenter, and volunteer at numerous detention facilities and nursing and
convalescent homes, Jesse has spent many years in ministry and service. Jesse is
a composer and clinician for Oregon Catholic Press, a partnership of over 35 years.
Jesse’s love and joy is rooted in his love of Jesus’ love, compassion and mercy.
Jesse has also been voted Catholic Entertainer of the Year, 5 years in a row by his
mom.
Mary Machi is the current Director of Faith Formation and Evangelization at St. Joan
of Arc in San Ramon. Mary’s extensive background in ministry makes her one of the
longest serving lay ministers in the Diocese of Oakland. When not serving, Mary
can be found spending time with her husband Keith and college age daughter Katie,
reading a great book, playing board games or hiking in a National Park.
Fr. Michael Nufable (Fr. Mike) is the current Parochial Administrator at St. Catherine
of Siena Parish in Martinez. He is a Bay Area native, growing up in Hercules. He
was ordained to the Priesthood in 2015. Fr. Mike is known for his support and
encouragement to the young Church. When not ministering, Fr. Mike can be found
supporting his local sports teams, 49ers, Giants and Warriors watching movies or
bowling with friends.
