Immaculate Heart of Mary,

Today’s readings center on the suffering of God’s Beloved foretold in Isaiah, given voice in the psalms, and theologized in Paul’s letter to the Philippians. God the Son, coequal with the Father and worthy of all praise, chooses out of love to descend to our humanity, living, suffering, and even dying as one of us. The arc of Palm Sunday begins with the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem in the first gospel reading, but immediately after shifts to his passion and death. This transition is abrupt, but maybe something we can find parallel to our own lives. At one moment, it’s easy to recognize the grandeur of God and his care for us, and in the next, we find ourselves unable to find God’s presence anywhere at all. As we experience his “crucifixion,” we can take consolation in knowing how this story ends—with the resurrection of Jesus on the third day. This is a busy week for all Catholics. Imaculado Corazon de Maria,

Las lecturas de hoy se centran en el sufrimiento del Amado de Dios anunciado en Isaías, se les da voz a los salmos y se teologiza en la carta de Pablo a los Filipenses: Dios Hijo, igual al Padre y digno de toda alabanza, elige por amor descender a nuestra humanidad, viviendo, sufriendo e incluso muriendo como uno de nosotros. El arco del Domingo de Palmas comienza con la entrada triunfal de Jesús en Jerusalén en la primera lectura del evangelio, pero inmediatamente después se traslada a su pasión y muerte. Esta transición es abrupta, pero quizá algo que podamos encontrar en paralelo con nuestras propias vidas. En un momento, es fácil reconocer la grandeza de Dios y su cuidado por nosotros, y al siguiente, nos encontramos incapaces de encontrar la presencia de Dios en ningún lugar. Mientras experimentamos su "crucifixión", podemos consolarnos en saber cómo termina esta historia: con la resurrección de Jesús al tercer día. Esta es una semana muy ocupada para los Católicos.
